Welcome to Windsor

Windsor is a charming town in Northern Colorado nestled between Fort Collins, Greeley, and Loveland. Windsor was established in the 1880s as a railroad town, serving the expanding agricultural and industrial economy of the region. It was originally a hub for the sugar beet industry, which drove much of its early growth, thanks in part to the establishment of the Great Western Sugar Company. This agricultural foundation contributed to the town’s development and shaped its rural character in the early 20th century.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, rapid growth has occurred in Windsor as northern Colorado has become a popular place to live. Water Valley and Riverdance are two subdivisions on the southern edge of Windsor that have grown quickly. They boast a location close to many amenities, safe and comfortable streets, and a resort-like lifestyle.

Points of Interest:
Windsor Lake: One of the town's most popular recreational spots, Windsor Lake offers a scenic place for boating, fishing, paddleboarding, and walking along the trail that encircles the lake. It's also a hub for community events, including summer concerts and fireworks on the Fourth of July.

Boardwalk Park: Located by Windsor Lake, this park is a community favorite and features a museum with historical buildings from the town's early days, including a train depot and schoolhouse.

Historic Downtown Windsor: The downtown area, while small, retains much of its original charm with historic buildings, shops, and local restaurants that give visitors a glimpse into Windsor’s past.
Windsor today is known for its strong sense of community, abundant outdoor activities, and proximity to larger urban centers, making it a desirable place to live while retaining much of its historical heritage.

Poudre River Corridor: The Poudre runs through Windsor from Northwest to Southeast. There is a paved trail along most of the distance, which makes for a wonderful and ideal location for recreation.

Golfing: There are four golf courses in this wonderful little city. Pelican Lakes, Ptarmigan, Highland Meadows, and RainDance boast some of the best golfing in the region!
